SOS! My iPhone® Took a Swim!

If your iPhone® has taken a plunge, don’t panic. Here’s your quick rescue guide:

Immediate Steps:

  1. Quickly turn off your phone.
  2. Remove the SIM card and any other accessories.
  3. Dry your device with an absorbent cloth.

Drying Methods:

  1. Place your iPhone® in a dry, ventilated area. Avoid direct sunlight and heat sources.
  2. If you have a vacuum seal bag, use it to suck out the moisture.
  3. Do not shake around your phone. Shaking can spread water around and make matters worse.
  4. Do not put your iPhone® in a bowl of rice. As tempting as it may be, using this method risks the opportunity for tiny rice particles can sneak into your iPhone® and cause further damage.

Post-Drying Steps:

  1. Check for water damage in the SIM card slot, charging port, and headphone jack.
  2. Once your iPhone® is dry, turn it back on. Test the screen, buttons, speakers, microphones, and all other features.
